As teams qualify for the round of 16, others start to pack their bags
Of the 24 teams present in the group stage of Euro 2024, only eight do not reach the round of 16. But as the groups end, different teams become known that will return from Germany sooner than they would like.
Group A ended last Sunday and Scotland finished bottom of the group, thanks to a goal from Hungary at 90+10'. Thus, at the fourth attempt, the Scots still fail to get beyond the group stage of a European Championship.
Hungary came in 3rd place in Group A (behind Germany and Switzerland ) and still dreams of finishing as one of the four best third-placed teams in the group stage. To do this, you will have to wait for the outcome of the other groups.
Albania, who had just 1 point in group B - the 'group of death' of this Euro 2024 - said goodbye to the competition.
Before this, Poland had already become the first team eliminated from the European Championship. This only happened after two rounds, after defeats against the Netherlands and Austria , in Group D.
